Google Chat Integration
Two-way Google Chat bot: hashtags in a chat thread create, update and close Redmine issues.
Overview
Teams that live in Google Chat can raise and manage Redmine issues without leaving the conversation. Each Chat space is linked to a Redmine project, and each thread maps to an issue.
The bot reads the whole thread, turns tagged messages into issue fields and notes, and posts a card back to the space with a link to the issue.
Key features
- Webhook endpoint receives Google Chat events and finds the linked project through a “Space ID” project setting.
- Hashtags such as #subject#, #description#, #status# and #assignee# create or update the linked issue.
- Messages tagged #notes# become issue notes, and edited chat messages update the matching note; #close# closes the issue.
- Posts a Google Chat card with a “View Issue” button after an issue is created.
- Maps Google users to Redmine users through the People API, with a local cache.
- Project settings tab for the Chat space and ticket owner; admin settings for API access and default tracker.
